Measurable cardinal

An uncountable cardinal $\kappa$ is measurable when there is a measure on $\kappa$, that is, a $\kappa$-complete non-principal ultrafilter on $\kappa$.

Measurable cardinals were first defined by Stanislaw Ulam.
